Son is Growing Fast

Son is Growing Fast

My baby has been growing fast.  His current favorite word is car. I guess our road trips back when he was just born helped him to love big trucks. The sound of them makes him happy. He can now say many words like hello, bye, apple, and banana.  He likes to imitate his little aunt, and he is definitely learning a lot from her. He can do some simple gymnastics flips. I am so proud of him!

Oh, here's me every time when I hear a new word from him! Omg, that feeling is indescribably happy!

Look who is reading about trucks. Just like his daddy who loves trucks so much!
He already wants to learn to drive. He will be my next taxi driver (after his dad retires). Muhaha.
I just can't resist his little happy face! He is definitely having a blast with his little auntie!
Look he also likes to help granny to keep her bathroom clean.
He loves his aunt and I think tennis will definitely be his sport!
I can't wait to spend more time with my baby son. He's such a happy baby and I will ensure that he will continue to be happy for the rest of his life. 😃

Our typical weekend drive
Jimmy and I got so into country because there are so many country music stations here. What can I say! The lyrics fit our lifestyle! :) Carrier Underwood is still my favorite country singer! :)
"You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise
Down a back road blowin' stop signs through the middle
Every little farm town with you In this brand new Chevy with a lift kit"

Our Quarantine Life Continues

Our Quarantine Life Continues
Jimmy and I are still in lockdown. We have the same routines on the weekdays: get up, work, and sleep. It is not easy to go out nowadays as most of the stores and shops are closed or closed earlier than before. Our local Walmart is no longer 24/7, so we can't buy groceries anytime we want.  Since a lot of services are no longer available, Jimmy and I had to learn new skills. We together trimmed his hair. He looked like a monk at the end, really bald.

I also got new habits like eating a lot of junk food and watching Chinese drama on YouTube or Netflix. Ah, these Chinese actors and actresses are very good looking. My favorite Chinese actress (who does not look Chinese) is Dilraba Dilmurat. The first show I saw her in was Eternal Love on Netflix, and she played a red fox. She will be forever known as the red fox to us. There are several Chinese actors I like, and they are Deng Lun and Zhang Bin Bin. They are all about my age, and very handsome...wish to meet them in Shanghai one day!

My favorite red fox :)
We managed to get something done around the house. We mowed the lawn, cleaned after our animals, and did our laundry. We recently had a Memorial long weekend. We drove from Upstate New York to South Carolina and looped back from Tennessee. We originally planned to visit Florida, but its border closed to New Yorkers. I was also looking forward to some South Carolina boiled peanuts, but coronavirus said no boiled peanuts for me.

Last but not least, I have to Thank God that both of us still have jobs. We are big spenders, so we can't live without paychecks. Amen.

Happy Baby Happy Life

Happy Baby Happy Life
My baby Kieran has been away from me for a while. He is still in Canada, and we are unsure when the border is going to reopen. We've been video chatting on WeChat, and I can tell that he is growing fast! He can do a lot of things now, from pretending signing papers to playing tennis. I am so proud to be his mama. He is currently living with his grandparents (Jimmy's parents), and thank goodness he has a little auntie who can play with him. They have become best friends.

Let's take a look his happy moments:
BFF for life with matching shirts!
The cutest farmer alive!
Just exploring a Canadian farm.
I want to be a tennis star!
What can I say! He is growing up so fast! How am I missing out on his growth? I can't wait to get him back to the states! I hope this coronavirus can go away soon, but I doubt it will since people are going back on to the streets to protest.

Life in Quarantine

Life in Quarantine
Second Entry of Our Survival Journal

My baby is just a little bit over one.  He is super cute and talented. Since this COVID-19,  my baby and I are separated. We live in two different countries. I miss that chubby little face. I really miss reading stories to him and cuddling him to sleep. One day, we were video chatting on the phone, my baby grabbed his coat and asked grandpa to put it on. I guess he wants to come home. Then I told him that I am not there to pick him up and he looked really disappointed.  Let's just pray that this virus will vanish soon.

He loves to water plants!
Still can play indoor soccer!
He can climb like a monkey!
While he is away, I have more time to watch shows on Netflix. So, thanks to Netflix, it got me into Chinese dramas. Each drama has at least 25 episodes.  Each episode always stops at a cliffhanger, which is really annoying! From this week on, I need to control myself; otherwise, I will really become a couch potato. I also learned that most of these shows are shot around my hubby & my mom's home 'state' Zhejiang. The actors in these shows are very good looking. Hehe, but none of them can beat the cuteness of my baby.

TEOTWAWKI 2020

First Entry of Our Survival Journal

We live in a small city in Upstate New York. The pandemic panic has finally reached us. I usually don't see too many people at Walmart, but today everyone was buying their survival needs for the upcoming weeks. Toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, eggs, drinking water, and most of the non-perishable foods are gone.  Tuna and soup cans are sold out fast. Shelves are empty! It feels like Black Friday! I am so glad that we started to stock up 2 weeks ago. Right now, Walmart is in total chaos!

Shelves for toilet paper and paper towels are empty in our local Walmart
Canned foods are selling out fast!
Frozen fruits and vegetables are also selling out fast!
Isopropyl is sold out at a Walmart in a nearby town in PA
Water, eggs, milk are all running out in Wegmans

Our local Walmart store normally operates 24/7, but due to the Coronavirus, the store hours are now between 6am to 11pm. The store clerks still have to work throughout the night to stock up the shelves for the next day.  As I walked through the aisles of non-perishable foods, the store clerks were so busy keeping up with the demand for canned foods. We learned that some Walmarts are currently closed down due too the high demand for survival products. I am not sure how long this is going to last and how many people will this COVID-19 affect. But for now, this is how we are going to live for the next few months.
